Delmont Green Street to Linwood Park Tour

When: Saturday, June 17th from 10:00 AM - 1:00 pm

Location: 214 Delmont Ave Ardmore, PA

Details: Did you know that Ardmore has a “green street”?  Join Kate Galer of Women in Horticulture (and the lead volunteer on the Green Street project) and the Lower Merion Conservancy on a guided walk of Delmont Green Street followed by a plant walk of Linwood Park.

Delmont Green Street is an ongoing project that, with the support of enthusiastic neighbors and funding from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, has installed residential-scale green stormwater infrastructure, including plantings and downspout planters. Be inspired and ask questions about projects that include depaving, rain gardens, garden expansions using native plantings, and downspout planters that capture stormwater to reduce flooding and soil erosion.  We will be exploring the projects and gardens of the neighbors, some of whom will be on hand to chat. We will then walk the three blocks to Linwood Park, a 1 acre “parken” that used to be a parking lot, where we will be welcomed by Chris Leswing of the Friends of Linwood Park, who will tell the story of the park, its plantings, and its people. Light refreshments will be served at the park.

This event is FREE but we ask that you register through the Lower Merion Conservancy at:
